With all this snow falling, it is safe to say that we are right in it… WINTER!

Of course, cleansing, exfoliation and moisturizing of the skin are always relevant in winter.

But why not take the opportunity to add a few more targeted treatments to our routine? Like treatments that are not ordered when our skin is tanned or our sun exposure is prolonged…

Each season represents a renewal for the skin and we have compiled a list of appropriate treatments for the winter period.

Facial care

Basic but oh so beneficial care to treat the skin, and this, regularly. It's a care that's possible to reproduce (DIY) at home, but no one is better than an expert to offer us this moment of complete relaxation.

During a facial, the esthetician does a cleansing, an exfoliant, a mask, extraction of comedones, etc. Above all, she knows how to guide you to the right products, adapted to your skin type and season. She teaches you to follow a routine of care that will extend the benefits well beyond your appointment.

It is advisable to consult for a facial care at each change of season, at least! A habit to take from the beginning of adolescence (but it is never too late).

Chemical peeling

A care giving a «new skin» effect, chemical peeling is very effective. The purpose of the peeling is to restore radiance to the skin by deep exfoliating with an active solution that will eliminate dead skin, activate the renewal of the external surface of the skin and stimulate the production of collagen.

Thanks to this care that must be done by professionals, it is possible to improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, skin relaxation, age spots (brown spots), acne, enlarged skin pores and acne scars. There are several levels of chemical peeling intensity and it is important to be well informed about the care adapted to your skin type.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion can be done alone or in combination with other treatments, such as a facial treatment or a peeling treatment. The effects sought and the results are similar to a peeling, but it's a «mechanical» exfoliation technique performed with a spray of microcrystals.

Microdermabrasion creates microlesions between the epidermis and dermis that will stimulate the formation of new, younger and firmer tissues.

It is an accessible, pain-free and effective treatment for most skin types.

Micro-needling

Micro-needling is a minimally invasive technique that also aims to densify, plump and firm the epidermis. The devices used during the treatment are equipped with single-use micro-needles that create micropunctures in the different layers of the skin. By repairing itself, the epidermis stimulates the production of natural collagen and elastin.

This treatment can cause slight discomfort, so an analgesic cream is applied on the surface to be treated. It is advisable to do a cure of minimum 3-4 treatments (spaced 4 weeks apart) to get the best benefits but the effects are usually visible from the first session.

Photo-rejuvenation

Photo rejuvenation is a treatment designed to treat pigment spots and brighten the complexion with pulsed light. Whether to treat age spots caused and/or worsened by the sun or certain vascular disorders such as rosacea and couperose, the effects will be gradually visible.

It is recommended to receive between 3 and 6 treatments for an optimal result. This treatment is painless and non-invasive.

This is an excellent solution to reduce visible traces of aging and restore radiance!

Photoepilation (IPL)

It is a long lasting hair removal method that has proven its worth! When swept to the surface of the skin with a specific device, the intense pulsed light (IPL) turns into heat on contact with the hair pigmentation. By repetition (8 to 12 treatments at 8 weeks intervals depending on the area treated), this heat will destroy the cells responsible for hair growth.

A slight feeling of heat, tingling or pinching can be felt but applying a gel to cool the skin will make the session more comfortable.

*Photo-depilation is contraindicated on dark and/or tan skin and tattoos. This treatment will not be effective on pale hair (red, blond, white). Other hair removal techniques will be recommended in these cases.
